Peace in the Storms

When speaking to my daughter yesterday I found myself giving her warnings about several different scenarios. "Make sure you are watching the stock market it is crashing, be careful driving this weekend there are a lot of wrecks on the 4th, there have been 6 shark attacks there in 3 weeks, don't get in the water, etc...and after a bit I caught myself and had to laugh and apologized for giving out such "good" news.

If I live life in fear, then my actions would say I don't really trust God. Yes there is bad in the world and yes there are dangers and we do need to be aware, but then we need to prayerfully commit our ways to the Lord and trust him to protect us and guide us, in the midst of the storms of life.
Proverbs 3:6 "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths".

When I look at the bible it says that Jesus walked and traveled in difficult times. He also prayed daily and trusted for God's soverign guidance in his life as he fulfilled his destiny.

How about you? Do you respond like me without even realizing it and speak fear, or do you prayerfully seek God's protection in the midst of life's storms and trust him to guide your footsteps?

Listen to this song and be encouraged with me to seek God's face afresh each new day and trust him more.
